Project Discovery

Product discovery: the investment that saves your software project

Your go-to partner for high-quality outsourced solutions.

Most software projects fail not because of bad engineering, but because of unclear requirements, scope creep, and misaligned expectations. Discovery fixes this before it starts — so your team builds the right thing, the right way, from day one.

The most expensive line of code is the one written before anyone asked the right questions

Every week of work built on unclear requirements is a week that may need to be undone. Discovery is not a delay — it is the fastest path to a product that works.

For LogicMark, the Discovery phase — including UI/UX prototypes, research documentation, and backend REST API design — meant the implementation team had everything they needed to execute immediately. No rework, no ambiguity, no wasted sprints.

A well-run discovery phase typically takes 2–4 weeks and produces the artifacts that make everything else go faster: architecture decisions are made, backlog is prioritized, design is validated, and the team has shared context before the first sprint begins.

Discovery Deliverables

Stakeholder Interviews

We interview your team, your users, and your subject matter experts to surface real requirements — not assumed ones.

Technical Architecture Proposal

A concrete recommendation for the technology stack, system architecture, and integration approach — with rationale your team can evaluate and approve.

UX Research & User Flows

User persona development, journey mapping, and validated user flows — the design foundation that informs every interface decision.

Wireframes & Prototypes

Low or high-fidelity wireframes for key screens — testable with real users before any development investment.

Prioritized Product Backlog

A structured backlog with epics, stories, and acceptance criteria — ready for sprint planning from day one of implementation.

Project Roadmap & Cost Estimate

A phased roadmap with realistic timelines, team composition, and cost estimates — the document you need for stakeholder alignment and budget approval.

Common questions — answered

Can we skip Discovery and go straight to development?

Yes — but we typically recommend against it unless you already have a detailed technical spec, validated designs, and a prioritized backlog. Discovery pays for itself in reduced rework and faster delivery. Most clients who skip it end up doing an informal version of it partway through the build — at higher cost.

Is Discovery available as a standalone engagement?

Yes. Discovery is offered as its own engagement without a commitment to subsequent development with Cafeto. Many clients use the discovery output to evaluate vendors, secure internal approval, or pitch to investors.

How long does Discovery take?

Typically 2–4 weeks depending on the complexity of the project. Simpler scopes (MVP, single-module product) can be completed in 2 weeks. Complex multi-module platforms or integrations may require 4–6 weeks for a thorough discovery.
